Helix Design is a full-service industrial design firm founded and run by an industrial designer and business focused leader. The firm is made up of a senior-level group of talented engineers and designers who relish generating innovative and thoughtful solutions and are inspired by seeing successful resolutions to the most challenging product development needs.

Founded by Joe Schappler in 1990, Helix Design intentionally maintains a diversified client base both to stabilize the business model and to keep the designers and engineers energized and engaged in new and different projects. Involvement in a wide variety of markets and industries allows the Helix design team to easily cross-appropriate ideas, solutions, processes, and material choices, keeping their ideas and point of view fresh.

Technology continues to transform the product development process. Every industrial designer at Helix sketches on Cintiq interactive displays to enhance productivity during the concept generation process, and the engineering team utilizes industry-leading Pro/Engineer and SolidWorks CAD software. Our in-house Objet Eden350V Polyjet rapid prototyping machine also allows us to quickly test and prove-out design directions with great accuracy, reducing risk and shortening your time-to-market.
